     Welcome to PoppyRow! This is a place for artists, written by an artist. A sort of online co-operative of resources. I’ve been making art for over 15 years, gone to art school, and taken numerous workshops. Now, I sell my work, do demos regionally, and teach classes. I am also a certified framer, so artwork presentation is very important to me. In the journey of my artistic existence, I have studied many mediums, including sculpture, oils, watercolors, printmaking, charcoals, and more. Art is a passion for me, I just can’t imagine not making art.

     I have noticed with the large circle of artistic friends I have, that most of us have had to learn by trial and error, or glean what we can through art magazines and books. It can be difficult to get your hands on information that actually can boost your career. When I began teaching about a year ago, at first I was nervous that people would try to imitate my style, and therefore make my work less valuable. But I have enjoyed not only inspiring others to paint, but also answering questions concerning the logistics of being an artist. Things like, where do I sell my work, how do I price it, where do I find inspiration and motivation to work, and how do I find the time.

     I’ve been running my art/framing business for around six years, and it can be complicated to be in business for yourself as an artist. We creative ones tend to be weak in that arena. But not only am I happy to pass on technique and inspiration secrets, I want your business as an artist to succeed, and I will help you avoid the pitfalls that I and many of my artist friends have easily fallen into. I want to hear your questions and suggestions to make this site a great treasure trove of resources to artists everywhere.
